Worldflex home offers innovative environmental solutions as flexible building envelope, green roofing solutions, solar energy, terrace roofing and heating / cooling systems. The houses are designed to produce more energy than they consume, and to withstand earthquakes. The basic structure is constructed from recycled shipping containers.
The interior was designed accordingly to the sustainable requirements for the housing project in general.
The first house was initially built in Denmark for the pilot project, and another ‘test house’ will be constructed in the Chinese city Wuxi, as a part of a large development-project with a total of 45,000 m2 located 28 km’s East of Shanghai. The project started 2 years ago at the Danish Institute of Technology Project Institute. During this developing period, the partners behind worldFLEXhome got together and initiated the collaboration with more than 20 Danish partners – including large Danish companies like Veliux, Isover, Junckers, Cembrit, HTH and Jeldwen. The architect-designed homes meet the requirements of the international Active House cooperation, which ensures healthy indoor climate.
