REAL TIME

Gallery Superobjekt present the exhibition realtime. Opening September 11, 5 – 7 pm. The exhibition can be seen until September 26.

Boris Berlin, Ole Søndergaard, Knud Holscher, Peter Bysted, Susse Fischer, Christian Bjørn, Ursula Munch Petersen

By convention, design, architecture and crafts are absolute and physical manifestations, typically reflecting the time of their creation. At a point, when a building, a typeface, a teapot or a chair is finished, no part will be changed, removed or added. The design will manifest itself as a benchmark in time.

However, time as an abstract and relative concept is to most of us a somewhat disquieting and challenging realm to enter, hard to grasp and even harder to materialize.

Superobjekt gallery has challenged the established design scene and asked 7 experienced designers to create a physical comment to what time means to them and by that revealing inspiration, thoughts, doubts and references normally hidden in their final work.

Throughout their career the designers have all created objects that we all know and appreciate in our daily life – for example Ursula Munch Petersen’s beautiful dinnerware for Royal Copenhagen, Ole Søndergaard’s classical typeface Signa, Knud Holscher’s trendsetting D-line and Peter Bysted’s design of the Danish national passport.

We invite you to experience 7 surprising works by a number of the most recognized Danish designers who – in many respects – has given us some of their own precious time.
